Hail storms can be one of nature's most destructive events, causing billions of dollars in damage each year to homes and buildings, agricultural crops, and of course automobiles.
Hail storms can be one of nature's most destructive events, causing billions of dollars in damage each year to homes and buildings, agricultural crops, and of course automobiles. Unfortunately hail storms and the dented cars they leave behind, even when accurately forecast, can be difficult to prepare for. If you live in an area where hail storms occur regularly, you've probably been the owner of a hail damaged car at some point, or at least know someone who has. In areas not accustomed to receiving hail damage, chaos quickly ensues after a storm happens. Owners of freshly dented cars line up at the local repair shops, sometimes waiting for hours to get a hail damaged car repair estimate. Hailstorm damage at a car dealership can be an even bigger mess, leaving hundreds of brand new cars damaged by hail and covered with dents. Most vehicles today are built with lighter alloys and thinner metals, making a car dent much more easily, especially during a hail storm. In the past, hail damage car repair involved conventional auto body shop dent repair methods, like having to apply body filler and paint to each panel of a dented vehicle. This repair method unfortunately voids the manufacturer's finish warranties and as a result, significantly lowers the value of the vehicle. Thankfully, today there is an alternative and better process available to repair a car with hail damage. The process is called Paintless Dent Repair, and it allows a car dented with hail damage to be repaired without any loss in resale value. Highly trained PDR technicians using special tools and lighting gently apply pressure to the underside of a hail damaged car dent and gradually massage it back to its original shape. They go over the entire vehicle, and one by one remove the car dents using paintless dent repair until there is no longer any hail damage. Additionally, Paintless Dent Repair, or PDR as its known for short, can be done in a fraction of the time it takes for hail damage repair at body shops. It comes as no surprise then, that PDR dent repair has become the preferred auto hail repair method for all major insurance companies when dealing with catastrophe hail damage car insurance claims. It’s interesting how you stated that a PDR is best used for hail damage or other small dents. My wife and I have a car that was pretty damaged by a few little things and we would love to have it fixed. We’ll have to take it to an auto body repair shop to ensure that it gets taken care of.
